Dorian Marie
I am a software developer, as well as an entrepreneur. Driven by technological advances, I take pride in providing the best services possible. As the CEO, my goals are to lead the Mavericks team, as well as creating strategies for projects. In addition to my primary job functions I was recognised by the Department of Entrepreneurship and Industry in Seychelles as a Seypreneur on the rise for Global Entrepreneurship Week for our extraordinary commitment towards the educational system in Seychelles.

I’m an idealist, visionary and entrepreneur striving to eradicate the status quo. I have worked in various fields with such a background as an electrician, engineer, logistics officer and a Customs officer. As the COO, I bring experience and my role is to overlook the daily operations of the company, from idea to concept and making it a reality to benefit everyone around the globe.

It all started in 2018, when Dorian was just a freshman at the University Of Seychelles. He was on the path of studying to become a software developer, he spent most of his time staying ahead of the syllabus by learning whatever he could, and by watching technology inspired TV shows. The idea of starting a company came up after he noticed that too many softwares in Seychelles were being developed by outsourced developers. He then approached his developer friend Louys who was also a freshman in the same university and they both shared interests in working on Mavericks. From there they went on adding Francesco, ThePhoenix and Arnold to the team who also had the same potential and passion on making a change. We then pivoted towards improving public services, as we noticed our country is far behind when it comes to technology.
As tech enthusiasts, we found out that when it comes to technological advancements our country was lacking far behind compared to most countries. Every local project was being outsourced abroad. It was heartbreaking to see this, so we decided to break this trend and lift our economy’s technological sector.
Our mission is to change the way you interact with services on a daily basis, with the power of technology.
Mavericks Club was founded by us on the 3rd of July 2020.
The club was formed while we were carrying out the Pilot Testing for our blended-learning platform VSchool at Plaisance Secondary School.
We discovered that, even though we would have pushed for our platform to be used by schools, students were no longer interested nor motivated to stay in school. Thus the project would have been a failure, but we saw otherwise. We took the initiative to challenge ourselves by changing the mindsets of the students, with the goal of implementing the entrepreneurial mindset so that the students could help and create new better versions of themselves first and to help others later on.
The Mavericks Club has seen a purpose in guiding the new generation on the right path and also to nurture talents out of the Seychelles Islands.
